Making Appointments
To arrange an appointment call Pat Swanson at 626-355-3566, extension 321. Appointments are often two to three weeks out, but if a cancellation comes open, we may be able to get you in sooner.
Counseling Intake Procedure:
Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your first appointment to complete the intake information. Your first appointment will be an initial consultation to understand your needs and determine how to best help you.
The outcomes of a consultation may include:
- A positive resolution of the issue
- Referrals to medical or psychiatric evaluation and treatment
- Referral to other Christian counselors
- Participation in a growth group or Adult Education class
- A discussion with a pastor, elder, or deacon
- A mentoring relationship with a mature Christian from the congregation
- Church or community recovery and support groups
- Recommended books or tapes
NOTE: We are not a crisis center. If you are in crisis, please call 911.
Fees:
There is no charge for the initial consultation. For any additional sessions, a fee will be requested based on a sliding scale. This could range from $75 to zero. The criteria includes:
- Income level
- Number of dependents
- Current extenuating circumstances
The fee will be discussed prior to the second session.
All checks should be made out to SMCC.
