Welcome to Counseling Ministry
Mission and Vision
The counseling ministry at SMCC seeks to help people discover God's resources for healing and growth through the experiences of failure, loss, and injury.
We serve people from both inside and outside the SMCC family who bring a range of personal, marital, and family issues. Each person is given the support of understanding, truth, and grace to make sense of and manage the growth and healing process. Though some situations seem beyond any satisfactory human answer, we believe these are the places where God shows up again and again to provide Himself and the necessary resources.
The staff bring together years of theological and therapeutic training to provide counsel that addresses the spiritual, psychological, and relational dimensions of life. An important goal of this process is that we all become "mature" (Eph. 4:13) so we can say, "when I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; but when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways" (1 Cor. 13:11).
