Welcome to Singles Ministry
The Singles Ministry of SMCC had its beginning in 1996 after it was discovered that nearly one-half of the adult members and visitors to the church identified themselves as being single. The church also learned that many of those single adults desired fellowship with other single adults of the Christian faith
It was felt that God gave a resounding YES to prayers regarding starting a ministry to specifically address the needs of such a large number of visitors to and members of SMCC. A select group of singles met to organize the Singles Ministry and in 1997 the church filled the position of a Singles pastor. We now hold regular services and plan social activities to fellowship and fulfill our God-given mission of learning more about God in order to draw closer to Him. Every person desiring to learn about God and living in His Word is invited to attend, regardless of any church affiliation or denominational preference
We have a group of individuals that function as facilitators for different areas of the Singles Ministry.
Our Mission Statement
The purpose of the Singles ministry at Sierra Madre Congregational Church is to provide a comfortable atmosphere where single adults can build healthy relationships with God, others and the world around us. We welcome all unmarried adults. Our goal as a group is to give every single adult at Sierra Madre Congregational Church a feeling of unconditional acceptance and Christian love by offering encouragement, fun and fellowship to all that desire to participate. In knowing that God uses others to nurture and strengthen us, we shall strive as a group to focus on understanding God's will so that we can live our lives in Him. We have two Singles groups: Spirited Singles to meet the needs of mature singles ages 40 and up, and Young Adult Singles for singles in their 20's and 30's.
